Sandra Backlund’s Killer Designs
Posted: April 6, 2011 Filed under: Swoon | Tags: designer, fashion, sandra backlund 4 CommentsYoung Swedish designer Sandra Backlund excels at using non-traditional fabrics and techniques to create fashion as art. Every piece is a statement piece. Founding her own label in 2004, Miss Backlund uses heavy wools, paper and even clothing pins to produce outrageously artistic designs that are also flattering (check out the dress on Tilda Swinton below). Her Spring/Summer 2011 collection is decidedly more wearable than previous ones yet is no less impressive. Drumroll, please.

She’s amazing!
I’ve been a fan of her work for ages now, and as much as I love her bananas aesthetic creating simpler designs will certainly have her selling with ease.
No doubt. Must get my hands on that silvery basket-weave designed top. xo!
