Letter Writing Club

Hey Vancouverites!

I have the news you’ve been waiting for: an after-work activity that will charm the hell out of you yet cost you nothing.  Way.  Tonight from 7pm, The Regional Assembly of Text on Main Street (at 23rd) is hosting its monthly Letter Writing Club event.  On the first Thursday of every month, this cute and quaint stationary store sets up approximately 20 vintage typewriters, provides an abundance of stationary supplies and opens its doors to one and all.  Since September 2005, romantics have been rubbing elbows while creating typewriter music all in the name of love letters and snail mail.

It all happens on a first come, first serve basis so if you arrive late, hang out by the tea corner while you wait your turn.

Dudes: if you want to impress a girl, THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT.  Give them a typewritten letter.  It can say something as simple as “Hi.  Let’s hang out.” and I promise she will dig it.  (For more wooing tips, read the Modern Hussy’s latest post about How to Woo Her.)

Did I mention this is all FREE?

I wonder if it’s something you could try to set up with the crew, Kiwi. Maybe when I come visit for the extra manpower.
Imagine typing on blankets in the park?
